JDESIGNS ART WEAR
The magic of fiber art is discovering that my completed wrap, cape or shawl is even more beautiful that I had imagined. As a former public school art teacher, I raised a variety of animals for their fiber including angora goats, angora rabbits and several breeds of sheep. I also enjoy working with silk and plant based fibers like bamboo. I combine fibers for their color, texture, loft and shine; spin and sculpt them through knitting, crocheting, felting, or weaving to create a unique piece of Art to Wear.
I grow Japanese indigo from seed and dye with fresh leaves and natural fermentation vats. I also paint on canvas and wood and I have created a variety of 'Whimsical Expressions'. You can see my latest work on my 'JDesigns Art Wear' Facebook page and at the Artist In Residence Gallery in St Albans, Vermont.
