Born in Burlington, Vermont, Alex Foltz is an oil painter, specializing in portraiture.
An artist from early childhood, Foltz was inspired and heavily encouraged by his step father, who introduced him to portraiture at the age of eight. With no formal education in the arts, he has gone on to use a multitude of subjects and mediums, including charcoal, graphite, watercolor, and ink. He began working in oils in 2013 for their versatility and vibrance, and has since developed his own unique style with them through the use of bright color and single, broad brush strokes.
Foltz currently lives in Saint Albans Vermont, and works from his studio, which is open to the public, at 34 South Main Street.
