RONALD L. HIBBARD
Hello, my name is Ronald L. Hibbard. I was a dairy farmer for 25 years.
In 2013 my family and I decided to leave the farming industry. Farming is a 24 hour a day, 365 days a year job and I found myself board with a lot of time on my hands. So my wife as many wives do, she told me to “Find a Hobby!”
I reverted back to my childhood days when I was acquainted with leather tooling at a camp I attended at the age 15. Thirty-five years later I decided this would be my hobby. I started four years ago to teach myself how to tool leather. Two years ago I entered into my first World Leather Debut competition in Sheridan, Wyoming. This is where Sheridan style leather tooling originated. The competition consisted of many categories such as belts, wallets, and pictures yet competitors competed amongst beginner level to masters whom have 50 plus years of experience. In my category
I placed 13th out 37 competitors.
In becoming more experienced and involved with creating my business I sell a variety of leather goods as well custom works on esty.com, in The Milton Artist Guild, and Champlain Leather in downtown Burlington. I am now looking forward to expanding my success with Artist in Residence.
